Website FAQ - TB Vets Becoming Breathe BC
The following website-ready questions and template answers are designed to explain the transition clearly while preserving donor confidence. Confirm all legal wording before publication.
1. Why is TB Vets changing its name to Breathe BC?
TB Vets is transitioning to Breathe BC to better reflect the breadth of our work and the impact we seek to make for people across British Columbia. While our name is evolving, our commitment to supporting respiratory health and serving our community remains at the heart of what we do.
2. Is TB Vets closing or becoming a different organization?
No. This is a rebrand and name transition, not the closure of TB Vets. The organization, its history, and its commitment to donors and communities continue. During the transition, you may see both the TB Vets and Breathe BC names used together.
3. Is Breathe BC the same organization as TB Vets?
Yes. Breathe BC is the new name being introduced for the organization known as TB Vets. We are using a staged transition so donors and community partners can continue to recognize the trusted TB Vets identity while becoming familiar with Breathe BC.
4. Is your mission changing?
Our commitment to respiratory health and community impact continues. The Breathe BC name is intended to communicate that work more clearly and support the organization’s future. Any updates to specific programs or priorities will be communicated directly and transparently.
5. Will my donation still support the same work?
Yes. Donations will continue to support the organization’s mission and programs. The name change does not alter our commitment to responsible stewardship of donor funds. If a gift is designated for a particular approved purpose, it will continue to be handled according to that designation.
6. Will my tax receipt look different?
Your receipt may display Breathe BC as the registered name, together with TB Vets as the familiar operating identity where permitted. Official receipts will continue to include all required information, including the charity registration number and gift details. The exact name format will be updated once final legal wording is confirmed.
7. Are donations made to TB Vets or Breathe BC still valid?
Yes. During the transition, we are working to ensure that donations connected with either name are processed correctly. Donors should follow the name and payment instructions shown on the official donation form, website, or appeal they are using. Please contact us if you have questions about a cheque, online gift, or other payment.
8. Why might I see different names on my receipt, confirmation email, or payment statement?
Our systems, banking records, donation platforms, and communications are being updated in a controlled sequence. For a period of time, you may see TB Vets, Breathe BC, or both names. These references relate to the same organization. If anything appears unfamiliar, please contact our team before disputing the transaction.
9. Can I still make a cheque payable to TB Vets?
Please use the payee instructions shown on our current donation materials. During the transition, cheque-processing requirements may change as banking and legal records are updated. If you are using older materials or are unsure which name to write, contact us before mailing your gift.
10. Will the TB Vets logo disappear immediately?
No. We plan to retain the current TB Vets logo during the transition while the complete Breathe BC visual identity is finalized. This approach preserves recognition and helps donors understand that Breathe BC continues the trusted work associated with TB Vets.
11. Do I need to update my monthly donation or donor information?
In most cases, no immediate action should be required. We will update our systems and connected services as part of the transition. If a change is needed for your recurring gift, payment method, or donor record, we will contact you with clear instructions through an official TB Vets or Breathe BC communication.
12. How can I confirm that a message or donation request is genuinely from TB Vets or Breathe BC?
Use the contact information published on our official website and do not rely solely on contact details in an unexpected message. Our communications will explain the relationship between TB Vets and Breathe BC. If you are uncertain about an email, receipt, payment description, or donation request, contact our team directly before responding.
13. Who can I contact if I have questions about the change?
Our team is happy to help with questions about the name transition, donations, receipts, recurring gifts, or payment descriptions. Please contact us by phone at 604-874-5626 or by e-mail at information@tbvets.org so your question can be answered appropriately.
